Kathryn FitzGerald is an associate at Simmons, Jannace & Stagg, LLP. Her practice focuses on the defense of both self-insured and insured clients for general liability matters in all courts in downstate New York, including New York City. Kathryn regularly defends the firm’s clients against a wide range of claims including premises liability, assault and battery, and motor vehicle incidents. She engages in all stages of litigation from inception through trial and also represents clients in arbitration and mediation settings.
Kathryn graduated from Hofstra University School of Law where she was a finalist in the Trial Advocacy Competition, and a member of the American Inns of Court. Her undergraduate degree in business was obtained from the City University of New York, Baruch College. Before making the transition to a career in law, Kathryn served as Controller for a chain of retail clothing stores, gaining skills which have been invaluable in her current representation of many large nationwide retail clients.
Prior to associating with Simmons, Jannace & Stagg, Kathryn was with in-house counsel for a large insurance carrier where she trained new attorneys, focusing on zealous advocacy of the client’s specific needs.
